FAQ's
Q:
How is what you do different from that of a "decorator"?
A: Sieguzi gets into the mechanics and structure of planning
a space. If walls need to be moved, we will prepare the scale
drawings required to re-allocate the spaces along with furniture/cabinetry
layouts so you can see exactly how the flow will be improved.
Trades can build to our drawing specifications. If structural
changes are required, we work with skilled engineers and architects
on your behalf to produce the required drawings and documentation
for building permit applications.
Q: How much will my
project cost?
A: Like buying a car, the brand, model and options you choose
will determine the total cost. You should decide what you want
to achieve and how much you want to invest in the project before
embarking on the design process so that the designs can be realistically
tailored to the budget available.
Q: How do I decide
on the look I want to achieve?
A: Design magazines and books as well as the internet are valuable
sources to start collecting ideas for your newly acquired home,
new construction or renovation. Putting your favorite photos
in an "idea file" will help the designer guide you to a cohesive
style.

Q:
Why do I need professional drawings for my renovation?
I know what I want.
A: In 10 years of practice in the field of interior design,
we know that a job that entails even minor construction can
cost many times more and take many times longer than it needs
to without proper plans. There are so many components involved
in a renovation that are not always obvious until the job is
under way. If decisions and modifications are going on during
construction due to lack of planning, higher costs, longer construction
time and client frustration are some of the results.
Q: Do you specialize
in traditional or contemporary interiors?
A: Sieguzi Interior Designs Inc. specializes in residential
interiors that reflect the aesthetic sensibilities of the clients
and their family. Whether the clients are contemporary, traditional
or want to create a special theme, we listen to what YOU want
and do the research and source unique products to satisfy your
vision.
Q: I want to renovate
my kitchen. Can I hire you to do the drawings and then shop
around for cabinetry myself?
A: We recommend that when Sieguzi starts a project with you,
that we help you see it through to the end. We have already
sourced many unique products and services that will help you
achieve the results you want without spending more time and
money trying to describe your vision to several other people.
We will help you find the sources to complete your project within
your time lines and within your budget.
Q: What does ARIDO
stand for?
A: Association of Interior Designers of Ontario. The Ontario
legislature passed a bill requiring that anyone calling themselves
an "Interior Designer" must have a combined 7 years of recognized
design education and professional experience as well as passing
a rigorous 2 day exam administered by the National Council for
Interior Design Qualification. This is a pre-requisite for full
ARIDO membership.

Q: What does CKD stand for?
A: Certified Kitchen Designer. This designation is awarded by
the National Kitchen & Bath Association to designers who
have a combination of 7 years design education and professional
experience and have passed an 8 hour exam testing competency.
Kitchens present special safety concerns and design challenges
so you can be sure that your CKD designer is fully qualified
and knows the standards of safety and function to provide you
with a kitchen that your family will love to gather in for years
to come. |
